What’s already in the trial app

1. At a glance

✦Meeting in person

There’s no chat with strangers. You meet in person, at public places, and then decide whether to meet again.

♀The woman decides first

The man learns that she’s there, and sees a photo of her, only with her permission, each time.

€One price: €5

Women don’t pay. A man pays €5 when a woman decides to meet him in person. He pays for the opportunity, not for the outcome.

⌖No tracking

Your location is sent only when you tap, with the app open. Nobody sees a distance, a map or where you are.

The fee goes to BothReady and is the same for everyone. Nobody else receives any money: neither members nor venues.

2. Who does what

WomanMan
LikesShe gives likes to compatible men in her city.He sees only the women who liked him, and replies “I like you too”.
HereShe becomes visible and decides whether and how to meet him.He becomes visible; he only learns what she decides.
EventsShe says “I’m going”, marks the men she likes beforehand, and decides at the place. He says “I’m going”; he doesn’t see any women before they decide.
DatesOnly she organises dates, and she invites up to 5 men.He accepts an invitation; the first to accept gets the date.
MoneyFree Only when she organises a date: a €5 deposit, which she gets back when she comes.€5 per opportunity to meet.

The app is only for adults (aged 18 and over), and for meetings between a woman and a man. You take part as “Woman” or “Man”; this choice and your date of birth can’t be changed after the first save.

3. Getting started and your profile

Signing up

Your profile

No contact details. Phone numbers, emails, links and social media accounts aren’t allowed anywhere: not in your texts and not in your photos. Contact details are shared only through the contact card, after you’ve met, if you both want to.

Photos

Profile review

Photos and texts are checked automatically by an artificial intelligence model that runs on our own computers, never on a third-party service. It checks:

Once your texts and one photo from the camera pass, your profile is approved automatically and shows as “Profile approved”. When the model isn’t sure, a person from the team decides.

If your profile or a photo isn’t approved, you see the reason and what to change in “Profile”:

“Profile approved” only means that the profile passed these checks. It is not a verification of identity, age or face: the app does nothing of the kind.

4. Likes

Here needs a mutual like. At events, you don’t need one.

5. The three ways to meet

There’s one thing to learn. The only difference is how you come to be in the same place; from then on, everything works the same.

6. Here

A meet-up now, where you are, with someone you have a mutual like with.

  1. Both You tap “Turn on Here for 3 hours”. The app takes your location once and makes you visible in an area of about 200 metres. You stay visible even if you walk around; to change place, you tap “New location”.
  2. Man To become visible, he needs €5 available: it’s held while he’s visible.
  3. Woman If a man she has a mutual like with is visible nearby, only she is told, and she sees his name, age and photos. He learns nothing.
  4. Woman She chooses “I’ll approach him”, “Let him see me” or “Not now”. She has 2 minutes to undo it.
  5. Man When her decision becomes final, he’s told (“Someone would like to approach you”, or he sees who she is) and is charged the €5 that was held. If his balance covers it, another €5 is held and he stays visible; otherwise his visibility ends.
  6. Woman For 30 minutes after her final decision, she can write to him so that you can find each other: within the 200 metres, you could be in different venues. She writes first; he can reply once she has. Text only, with no phone numbers, links or accounts. Either of you can close the chat, and the messages are deleted when it closes. After “I’ll approach him”, he only sees “Her”, unless she tells him herself who she is.
  7. Both You meet in person. “Would you like to meet again?” comes the next day.

Limits of Here

7. BothReady events

An organised form of Here, with a guest list: the team sets a city, a public place and a time (e.g. Friday 20:00–23:00). Taking part is free for everyone.

  1. Both On the “Events” tab, you see the events in your city and tap “I’m going”. You can withdraw it until the event starts.
  2. Woman Before the event, she sees which compatible men are going and marks the ones she likes. The mark is private: they never find out.
  3. Man He doesn’t see any women, or how many are going.
  4. Both At the place, you tap “I’m here” (from 30 minutes before the start until the end, near the place). Man €5 is then held until the end of the event. You need €5 available: without it, “I’m here” isn’t possible, so top up before you set off.
  5. Woman She finds out which of the men she marked are there, and decides as with Here: “I’ll approach him”, “Let him see me” or “Not now”. No mutual like is needed: it’s enough that she likes him and that he came.
  6. Man He’s charged the €5 only when a woman makes a final decision to meet him. If no woman decides to, the €5 comes back automatically at the end.
  7. Both The next day: “Would you like to meet again?”

If you tap “I’m going” and don’t come, you don’t lose any money, but it counts against your reliability. If the team cancels the event, anything held or charged goes back to your balance.

8. Dates organised by the woman

The woman chooses where and when, and invites up to 5 men who suit her. The first to accept gets the date. In the app: Events → Dates (she sees her dates, he sees his invitations); “New date” and invitations awaiting an answer also appear on the “Home” tab.

  1. Woman She taps “New date” and sets the city, a public place (from our list, or an address she enters, confirming that it’s a public place and not a home), the day and time (from 3 hours to 14 days ahead) and a note of up to 140 characters, with no contact details.
  2. Woman A €5 deposit is held from her balance. It’s there so that nobody sets up a date for a laugh, and it comes back to her as soon as she says “I’m here” on time.
  3. Woman She invites up to 5 compatible men in the city (up to 2 active dates at a time).
  4. Man He gets “You’ve been invited to a date”. He sees her name, age and profile details, without a photo (not even after accepting: she recognises him from his photos), the city, the place (an address she entered shows only as “Public place”), the day, the time and her note. The note is one-way: there’s no reply or chat.
  5. Man He taps “Accept”: €5 is held from his balance. The first to accept gets the date and sees the exact address; the others only see “The invitation has closed”. He can’t accept two dates that overlap.
  6. Both At the place, from 15 minutes before to 20 minutes after the set time, you each tap “I’m here”. The woman’s deposit comes back straight away. If you’ve both said it, the man is charged the €5 at the end of the “I’m here” window (20 minutes after the set time), not when she arrives. She’s told when he arrives; he isn’t told when she does, not even through his balance: she approaches him, and she can see his photos until the end of the “I’m here” window.
  7. Both The next day: “Would you like to meet again?”

If nobody accepts, the invitations expire 24 hours after they were sent or 2 hours before the date (whichever comes first), and the deposit comes back in full.

9. Money: holds, charges, refunds

Why it works this way: the man pays for the opportunity to meet a woman in person, not for how it goes. If she turns him down in person, for whatever reason, the charge stands. If no opportunity comes up, the hold comes back automatically.

Dates: what happens at the end

The outcome is settled automatically 20 minutes after the time of the date.

You can cancel up to 15 minutes before the set time. From then on, only “I’m here” counts. Cancellations don’t count against your reliability; only an absence does.

Refunds

10. After the meet-up: the contact card

  1. The next day, you both get the question “Would you like to meet again?” You answer “Yes” or “No” privately, within 7 days. The other person never learns of a “No”.
  2. If you both say “Yes”, each of you chooses what to share: your confirmed mobile number, an Instagram username, or both. There’s no free text.
  3. The other person’s details are shown for 24 hours from the first time you open them. You can share details for 30 days after the double “Yes”; after that, whatever you shared is deleted.

A block closes the card straight away and deletes whatever had been shared.

11. Reliability

12. Safety

Blocking

From any list or meet-up. The other person isn’t told. It closes everything that connects you (interest, Here and its chat, the contact card, a date that hasn’t happened yet, with the amounts returned). Unblocking doesn’t bring anything back.

Reporting

With a reason: safety concern, harassment, misleading profile, inappropriate photo, “The photo wasn’t of him/her”, other. A person from the team reviews it. By default, it also blocks the person. If a woman approached you anonymously (“I’ll approach him”), you can report without blocking, so that it doesn’t reveal who she was; you can block once you’ve shared details on the contact card. A report from the Here chat keeps a copy of the chat for the team; otherwise the messages aren’t kept anywhere.

Hiding

A woman can hide from a man without him finding out. She can undo it in “Safety and reports”.

Suspension

If the team suspends your account, you see the category of the decision and can submit one appeal, which another member of the team reviews.

13. Privacy and your data

14. What BothReady doesn’t do

15. Frequently asked questions

She turned me down in person. Do I get the €5 back?

No. You paid for the opportunity to meet her in person, not for the outcome.

She tapped “I’ll approach him” by mistake. Was I charged?

Not if she undid it within 2 minutes: you didn’t learn anything and weren’t charged.

Can I be charged more than once at the same event?

Once for each woman who makes a final decision to meet you. After each charge, a new €5 is held only if you have an available balance; otherwise you no longer appear for new decisions.

My balance wasn’t enough. Can I go into debt?

No. Without an available balance, nothing is held and nothing is charged. The app will suggest a top-up.

Can I get my balance in cash?

No. Refunds always go to your balance. For purchases from Google Play or the App Store, money is refunded only through Google or Apple.

I’m going to an event, but I have no balance.

A man needs €5 available to tap “I’m here”. Top up before you go; if you don’t tap “I’m here”, your “I’m going” counts against your reliability as an absence. If you can’t come after all, tap “I’m not going” before the event starts.

I forgot to tap “I’m here” at the date.

“I’m here” is the only way to show that you came. Tap it as soon as you arrive, from 15 minutes before to 20 minutes after the set time. If you don’t tap it, the date is settled as if you hadn’t come.

I’m using Here and can’t find him. What can I do?

For 30 minutes after your final decision, you can write to him from the meet-up on the Here page (e.g. “Where are you?”); he can reply once you’ve written. Don’t write phone numbers or accounts: if you’d like to meet again, there’s the contact card the next day. If anything bothers you, close the chat or make a report.

Can anyone see where I am?

No. Your location is used only to check that you’re at the place or in the same area. Nobody sees a distance, a map or your location.

Why wasn’t my profile approved?

The reason is shown in “Profile”, with a tip. It’s usually contact details in the text, or a photo that needs to be retaken. Correct it and save; the check runs again automatically.

I need help.

During the trial phase, ask the person who invited you to BothReady.
